Waitrose began offering an ISP package in 2004 when the broadband boom was about to begin. They had three separate offerings, and these had to be clearly communicated via a free interactive CD-ROM that would be given away in-store.
The concept was simple and based upon coloured box system. This formed the basis of the interface and allowed separation of products by colour and column/row.
The Flash movie below is the auto-booting movie that played when the CD was inserted into your PC/Mac, and takes you though the available options. Where appropriate, the movie would temporally connect to the internet to allow the customer to order their selected package.
The design system was carried through onto printed packaging to house the CD, and through instructional and promotional online material that populated the site.
